A shocking video shows a woman making 'racist' comments to a Muslim mum and her two-year-old daughter in Bromley.

The video shows a middle-aged white woman repeatedly telling Iffath Hoque to “go and bomb the world” and “I know where you’re coming from”.

Mrs Hoque alleges that the confrontation started when the woman told her daughter Inayah to “shut up” when she was crying at a bus stop near Sainsbury’s in High Street, Bromley, yesterday morning.

The video does not show the little girl being told to "shut up" but does show the woman telling Mrs Hoques her toddler should be taught "discipline".

Mrs Hoque told News Shopper: “We were walking past the bus stop, my toddler was crying and she started telling her to shut up.

“I challenged her, and she started saying ‘go and bomb the world’.”

She added: “I am a non-scarf wearing Muslim, this type of hate crime clearly is towards any Asian person.”

In the minute-long clip Mrs Hoque repeatedly asked the woman "are you her mother" and "now you're being racist" while filming at the bus stop.

Mrs Hoque posted the video on Facebook and said: “Hi I'm Inayah, I'm two years old and I was crying outside - normal for most kids my age.

“This stranger told me to shut up and when my mum asked her not to speak to me like that she called my mum a bomber.

“Is this the Bromley we wanna [sic] live in?”

The video has been shared more than 700 times and social media users were quick to congratulate Mrs Hoque for standing up for herself.

One Facebook user wrote: “Well done for standing up. If you don't stand up for what's right these type of lost beings will carry on and spread the disease.

“A bully will carry on bullying until confronted and told what they did was wrong, they become worse when you walk away.

“Thinking they are right, more powerful and valuable compared to the other being.”

Another commented: “Can’t believe how calm and dignified you were.

“It just shows the type of people we have in society. I hope someone recognises her. If she was my mother/sister/grandmother etc, I'd be ashamed.”

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed the incident is being treated as a “racially motivated hate crime”.

She said: “Police were called at 9.32am on Thursday, May 25 to reports of a racist comment being made to a woman in West Street, Bromley.

“Officers attended but no victim or suspects were located at the scene.

“Officers have since made contact with the victim, aged in her 30s.

“Officers are treating this incident as a racially-motivated hate crime.

“No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.”
