Emergency gas works under a railway bridge have closed a road in Chislehurst.

Yester Road will be closed to traffic from Thursday May 18 after the morning peak period.

The road is being closed to traffic to allow SGN to make emergency repairs in connection with a gas leak.

The repair work is taking place under the railway bridge between the junctions of Sundridge Avenue and Lubbock Road.

A spokesman for Bromley Council said: "Unfortunately, the next stage of SGN's works mean that Yester Road will need to be closed to through traffic as there is not enough road space for traffic to use the road whilst the repair is made.

"Traffic will be diverted via Waldens Road and Elmstead Lane in both directions whilst the closure is in place. SGN's repairs are taking place on a 27 inch gas main, with deep excavations needed."
