A Dartford teen beauty queen is a finalist in a catwalk competition and has raised more than £1000 for charity.

Hayley Day, 14, will represent Kent at the Catwalk Perfect final in November where she hopes to win the crown.

Hayley’s pageant dreams were shattered when a previous competition was cancelled, but said she had made "friends for life" and raised £1200 for the Rainbow Child Foundation and Battersea Dogs and Cats home.

Now she is raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity and is hosting her own charity fashion show in Crayford this summer.

A post on Hayley’s JustGiving page said: “The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain tumours, making a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families.

“We fund pioneering research to increase survival, raise awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours and provide support for everyone affected to improve quality of life.

“We are committed to having the biggest possible impact for every person affected by a brain tumour, and to defending the most amazing part of the human body.

“Thank you to everyone for your support.”

Speaking to News Shopper last year, Hayley said: “Pageants are about making new friends, finding your inner beauty and helping out within my local community.”

Hayley’s fashion show will be at the VCD Atheletic Club, Old Road, Crayford on Saturday, August 5 at 6pm.
