An 18-year-old man is in a life-threatening condition after being stabbed in broad daylight by a gang of youths.

Police were called at 5.55pm on Thursday, 27 April to Herbert Road.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service found the victim suffering stab wounds and he was taken to a south London hospital. His injuries are being treated as life-threatening.

It is understood the victim was involved in an argument with four youths.

Detectives from Greenwich borough's gang unit are investigating and are appealing for witnesses.

All the youths at the scene then fled the area into the Barnfield Estate.

Det Con Andrew Payne, the officer in the case, said: "This attack happened in broad daylight, in a busy street and I am appealing for anyone who saw anything, or who knows anything, about the attack to contact me."
