A large muscular man stormed the counter and demanded cash in a Co-Op in a robbery police believe might be connected to another crime in the area.
This is the second Co-Op robbery in a week with police not ruling out that was connected to an incident in Chastillian Road on Thursday, March 16.
It is reported that at around 8.10pm, on Monday March 20, a man entered the Co-Op in Watchgate.
A police spokesperson said: "He then walked up to the tills and jumped over the counter before demanding they be opened. Cash was subsequently stolen.
"The man is described as being white and having a large, muscular build. At the time he was wearing a black tracksuit top, bottoms and black trainers."
Officers would like to hear from anyone who believes they saw him in the area leading up to, or shortly after, the robbery.
