The South London & Kent Pool Alliance returned to league action this week and Division One’s Eltham Terrace Rack Pack have confirmed Royal Oak Addicks relegation after a massive win against them.

It was a huge win in more ways than one for Rack Pack, as the 13-2 victory lifted them from fourth to second and with just two league games to go they are in the driving seat for the second automatic promotion place.

It was a fine team performance with, Tony Frost, Dan O’Rourke, Graham Levingbird and Steve Unwin all scoring unbeaten hat-tricks.

This result leaves Addicks an unassailable 43 points away from the relegation play-off place, which has sealed their drop into Division Two.

Glenmore Arms were third but they drop to fifth after they were narrowly beaten, 8-7 by the division leaders, Bellegrove Social Club.

This victory upholds Bellegrove’s unbeaten record, making it twelve for the season, to give them a fourteen point lead at the top of the table, however they didn’t have it all their own way, as Glenmore were, 7-5 ahead but couldn’t get over the line and Bellegrove won the last three frames for victory.

There was only one unbeaten player, Sam Bedingham-Pearce, winning all three of his frames.

Despite their 8-7 victory, CSC Mr’s & Miss Q’s dropped one place to third but they would have been pleased with the win as they arrived with just four players.

On the other hand, Bellegrove A will be disappointed, as they succumbed to their fifth, 8-7 loss of the season.

Bellegrove started the better, taking the first set, 3-2 but all four of CSC’s team picked up a victory in the second set to give them a, 6-4 lead going into the final set.

The last set was a repeat of the first but it wasn’t enough for Bellegrove to pick up their sixth win of the season.

Highlight of the night belonged to Bellegrove’s Bulbul’s, Sirhat scoring two out of two and his wife, Lynn Maher-Bulbul winning her only frame on her SLKPA debut.

North Heath Social Club put themselves 24 points clear of their relegation rivals, Foots Cray Social Club with a, 8-7 win against them, North Heath’s third, 8-7 win in a row.

As a result, North Heath should avoid automatic relegation but they do have a fight to dodge the play-off place with, Bellegrove A.

North Heath are in the unusual position of sitting in sixth but have won seven of their twelve matches, more than all the teams above them, except Bellegrove Social Club at the top.

It’s going to be a tough but exciting last two games of the season for, Rack Pack, CSC, and Glenmore Arms, as only two points separate them, with just one automatic promotion place and one play-off place available, assuming Bellegrove Social Club don’t capitulate.

In the SLKPA second division, Sharks have secured promotion and almost the championship, after yet another massive win.

Sharks got off to a flyer against Bellgrove Flyers, winning the first two sets by 4 frames to 1, to wrap up the match before the final set, which they went onto win, 3-2 for an overall, 11-4 triumph.

Despite the large score line Sharks only had two unbeaten players,Kevin Dempsey and Eno Idiong, who both won all three of their frames.

Flyers Captain, Keith Smith led by example, winning two of his team’s four frames, it was just a shame the rest of his team couldn’t follow that example.

Rose Inn are the only team who can catch Sharks, although they are still in third after beating second placed, Fox & Hounds, who have played one more match than both Sharks and Rose Inn.

Dean Taylor got the game off to a perfect start for Rose, with a break and dish and they went onto to win the next two frames but Fox took the last two to reduce the deficit to, 3-2.

Neil Shelton tied the match but Rose won the next two frames, with Taylor 7-balling his opponent, however Clive Forrest and Kerry Wyatt took the last two frames of the set again to level the match at five all.

With the first two sets, as well as the positions of the teams being so close, you would have expected the last set to be tight too but you wouldn’t be more wrong as Rose put their foot on the gas to whitewash the final set for an overall, 10-5 triumph.

After his wins in the first two sets, Taylor went on to get his hat-trick in the last set and he was joined by Michael Bunn on three frame wins.

This result leaves Fox 22 points behind Sharks in second but they only have one game left so cannot catch them but Rose are five points behind Fox with two games to play so can catch both the teams above them, however they are unlikely to overtake the unbeaten division leaders.

Bottom team, Greyhound Elite were unable to field a team against the team above them, Plumstead Radical Club, which leaves them 27 points adrift.

With six games to go in the SLKPA Premier Division, the fight to avoid relegation is really hotting up, as only 21 points separate the bottom four teams and they all lost this week.

Crayford Social Club Rugrats are fourteen points adrift at the bottom after going down, 12-3 to Hotshots, who are now sitting in fourth.

Just above Rugrats are Falconwood Social who faced the league leaders, Eltham Terrace Club A this week and it looked like the top team would run away with it after taking the first three frames.

However, the Falconwood trio of, Ben Creffield, Alex Biggs and Paul Doherty won the next five frames between them to take a, 5-3 lead but Terrace pegged it back to five all by the end of the second set and they went on to win the final set, 3-2 for an overall, 8-7 win.

There was some good pool played by both teams and you wouldn’t realise there was eight places and 45 points between the two teams.

Currently occupying the play-off spot is Eltham Terrace Rovers and they also faced opposition from Falconwood in the guise of Falconwood Club.

Again both teams were playing well but Falconwood just edged each set by 3 frames to 2 for an overall, 9-6 victory.

Falconwood’s Dean James performed a dish from a dry break and Stacy Redman a break and dish but the only unbeaten player was Kieran Evans, with two frame wins.

There are now only five points between Rovers and Falconwood Social beneath them and Eltham Terrace Nuthouse are only two points ahead of Rovers.

Nuthouse played Bellegrove and as both teams came into this match after whitewash wins in the cup, it was always going to be a close game, however Bellegrove had a, 7-3 lead at the end of the second set.

They now only needed one frame for victory, which they achieved in the eleventh frame but Nuthouse won the last four frames to make the score a more respectable, 8-7.

The closeness of the match was reflected in the fact that there were only two unbeaten players, one from each side, Aaron Shephard and Paul Donohoe, both scoring a brace.

In the final game of the night, Hustlers A played hosts to Pickwick and it turned out to be a bit of a fudge fest by both sides as it was tight all the way through, going to a final frame decider, which Pickwick were unlucky not to win, giving Hustlers the, 8-7 triumph.

For Pickwick Mark Brinkley made a wonderful clearance to win one of his frames and Paul Gafa won two of his three frames.

Hustlers' Bruno Silva and Micky Clayton were also victorious in two out of three frames but Adam Coppen was unbeaten with a brace to help keep their team in second place, fourteen points behind the leaders and five points ahead of third.
