A bungling driver has been banned from driving for two years after crashing into three vehicles while trying to escape from the police.

Stanley Visser, 18, from Eltham, was signalled to pull over by police who spotted him holding a phone up to his ear on November 21.

Instead of stopping, Visser accelerated up Oakley Drive and hit the rear of the police vehicle.

He then continued to speed away, turning up Beverbank Road where he managed to hit an oncoming car and another parked vehicle.

Less than a minute later, the police located his car parked outside a house in Keightley Drive and spotted Visser running from the car into the home.

It was then a simple task for the police to follow Visser to the address and arrest him.

Visser pleaded guilty at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on January 5 to dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to stop for police and driving while using a mobile phone.

He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for two years. After the two years he will need to pass an extended test to get a licence.

He was also ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work, a curfew to not be outside past 9pm, and to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £85 victim surcharge.
