A group of students from Sidcup were joined by a special guest on a recent school trip.

Pupils from Marlborough School, who suffer from severe, complex and physical learning difficulties, were greeted by former Strictly Come Dancing head judge and Bromley-born Len Goodman, after an invitation from Robinson Jackson estate agents co-founder Alan Robinson.

“Seeing the children from Marlborough school has been fantastic,” said Mr Goodman.

“One of the girls screamed ‘seven’ as I walked down the stairs – always great to hear. The school and Robinson Jackson certainly get a ten from Len.”

Mr Goodman said he was not surprised when he was asked to meet the pupils, as it was typical of Robinson Jackson to involve themselves in the community.

The students made the trip on their new minibus, made possible following sponsorship from Mr Robinson and his partners.

The donation was made in memory of Ron Kennor, the former general manager of Robinson Jackson, who lost his battle with cancer in 2015.

The gift was made in tandem with the Variety Club Golf Society Sunshine Coach Initiative, which both Mr Goodman and Mr Robinson support.

Mr Robinson spoke about the challenges the school staff face every day, and said “it’s great to donate something that will make their lives that little bit easier.”

The coach allows the students with complex needs to access the wider community safely according to Marlborough School’s Jill Page.
