Ebbsfleet International has been named as one of the UK’s most expensive train station car parks, a study has revealed.

Drivers pay £12.60 each day to park at the station, which complaint service Revolver named as the fifth most expensive pay and display in the country.

Reading topped the list with drivers forking out £23.70 to park every day in the station.

The survey collected data from 100 car parks and was released after passengers were slapped with 2.3 per cent average increase to their rail fares on January 2.

Resolver founder James Walker said: "With increases on the horizon on everything from household goods to mortgage costs, the people I speak to are really concerned about making ends meet in 2017.

"Though train and parking companies can't be forced to reduce their prices, you can still recoup some of your losses by remembering your rights and claiming for refunds if you're delayed or making a complaint if you face an unfair parking charge."
