Lewisham police officers got a suprise when they stopped to assist a 'collapsed person'.
Officers initially thought the heap on the ground in Morley Road was a person and rushed to help them this morning.
However on closer inspection they found it was in fact a massive teddy-bear, dressed up in a cardigan and holding a bottle of coke.
The officers joked he was 'clearly a little worse for wear from the night before'.
They wrote on Twitter: "Turns out teddy had too much to drink last night and couldn't make it home."
A spokesman for Lewisham Central Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) said: "There was an alley way with a trolley full of goods at the entrance and there was something that looked like a person slumped over so we went to investigate.
"We found out it was a large teddy bear in a cardigan with a bottle of Coke. He clearly he was a little worse for wear from the night before.
"Though at least it wasn't anything too serious."
