A TUBE pervert has been handed a suspended sentence after using homemade cameras to film up the skirts of 34 women on the Underground.

Martin Seaman, 55, of Rectory Road, Dagenham, was detected acting suspiciously on the Piccadilly Line by undercover police officers.

As he travelled back on forth with no apparent purpose, officers noticed Seaman boarding each train closely behind a woman wearing a short skirt or dress.

Seaman was seen placing his rucksack, which he was carrying by his side, between a woman’s legs.

Officers then noticed a camera device pointing out of the bag which was filming up the woman’s clothing.

When he was arrested, officers discovered he had created a homemade device using a glasses case with a phone battery and camera inside it.

After downloading the camera’s contents, police found 17 videos showing upskirt footage of 34 women.

It was revealed Seaman had previously been banned from travelling on the Underground with a camera.

On Wednesday (December 7) at Blackfriars Crown Court he was handed an eight months suspended sentence for breaching the ban, and another eight months after admitting outraging public decency.

Leading the investigation, PC Graham Evans said: “This man clearly set out with an aim to use his own homemade device that he had created for this vile purpose to pry on women in an extremely intrusive way.

“No one should ever feel fear or intimidation while travelling on the rail network and I am pleased we have been able to bring this man to justice.”

Head of TfL’s transport policing, Siwan Hayward said: “Vile and predatory behavior like this has no place on our transport network.

“No one should be subjected to unwanted sexual behaviour and anyone who does experience it should report it immediately.”
