Three neglected horses were rescued from a field in Sidcup due to 'immediate concerns for their welfare'.
The shocking photos show the skinny horses with matted tails and dirt in their hair.
Bexley Police, an inspector from the RSPCA and a vet attended the scene in Edlington Way at about 2.30pm today.
The owner has been issued with a notice asking them to contact the animal welfare charity immediately.
The horses are now in the care of the RSPCA.
