A spoof news website has launched a parody song based on the queues and charges at the Dartford Crossing, which will be familiar to many disgruntled motorists in the News Shopper area.

The song, which is set to the Jingle Bells tune, has had more than one million views and the creator of the website Southend News Network, who goes by the name Chief Reporter, hopes it will top the charts this Christmas.

Lyrics such as 'I left home Tuesday lunch, and now it's Saturday' will likely strike a chord with drivers who have battled the crossing's infamous queuing traffic.

The song will be available to download from December 2 and proceeds will go to Shelter and the British Heart Foundation.
