Plans to reroute the buses between Queen Mary’s and Green Street Green have been given the green light.
Although TfL backtracked on proposals to stop the R11 bus from accessing both hospitals directly, it will no longer serve Edgington Way or Sidcup Tesco.
TfL has now agreed the R11 will run via Orpington Hospital with more buses but those heading for the Tesco stops will need to need to catch the 321.
The leader of the council, Teresa O’Neill chairs the Bexley health and wellbeing board.
She said: “It is excellent news.
“To have stopped the route directly accessing Orpington Hospital could have affected the way that local residents access health services, particularly patients with less mobility who travel from the Sidcup area.”
These changes have been scheduled for April 2017.
