Kent Police are appealing for witnesses after thieves reportedly targeted two supermarkets in Gravesend and Dartford.
Three men are said to have broken into a supermarket in Whitehill Lane, Gravesend, at about 11.40pm yesterday.
One of the men is alleged to have used a sledgehammer to smash the glass. The group is then reported to have made off with a quantity of cash.
The trio have been described as wearing dark clothing with their hoods up. They are believed to have driven away from the scene in a dark coloured hatchback.
Another supermarket was also reportedly targeted in Henderson Drive, Dartford, this morning at 1.05am.
Officers received a report that a man had been seen attempting to break into the supermarket and upon investigation a quantity of spirits were stolen.
Police are connecting both incidents and would urge anyone with information to call the appeal line on 01474 366149 quoting reference XY/39326/16.
