A man was arrested as police discovered more than 300 cannabis plants in a Crayford house this morning (September 29).

A raid was carried out by officers from Bexley Police's problem solving team, who seized the plants, which will be destroyed, along with thousands of pounds worth of hydroponics.

The man was arrested at the scene.

The electricity set up in the property is said to be of great concern and had been putting the safety of the occupier and neighbours at risk.

The police are now working in partnership with UK Power Network to make it safe.

Acting police sergeant Garrey, from the problem solving team, said: "As my team entered the property it was instantly clear it was a cannabis factory. The entire house had been insulated.

"Every room in the house was being used to cultivate cannabis. This is the second cannabis factory my team have located this week and sends out a strong message that drug distribution and cultivation will not be tolerated in Bexley."

This comes after police raided a cannabis factory in Welling earlier this week.
