A 20-year-old woman’s face was burned by two cigarette butts during a sickening attack in Bexleyheath.

Chloe Helson was partying at Pure Bar when she decided to leave in the early hours of Saturday morning.

She was approached by two “intoxicated” men who hurled insults at her while walking home.

Ms Helson’s aunt Emma Duke, who posted the shocking picture of her niece’s burns on Twitter, said: “She was approached by two men who shouted things at her like ‘fat s***’, calling her names.

“So she pretended she was meeting her boyfriend to try and make them go away but then they caught up with her.”

The 29-year-old aunt added: “One of them pushed her to the ground, had hold of her and was banging her head on the pavement. Then they both put their cigarettes out on her face.”

In addition to the burns to Ms Helson’s face, she also suffered bruising to her head, according to her aunt.

Ms Duke told the Standard: “I’ve been round to see her and she’s obviously in a right state.

“It’s shocking, it’s scary and dangerous to think that, that can happen to a poor girl.”

A Kent Police spokesman said: “A report of an assault has been made in an area around the border of Bexleyheath and Dartford between the times of 12.50am and 3am. Enquiries are ongoing.”
