A small dog was allegedly “kicked up in the air” after it weed on a pavement outside a butcher’s shop in Hayes.

Maureen Hurley, 80, of Hayes Hill Road, was reportedly left shaking on the ground in shock after the incident last Thursday (August 25).

Ms Hurley was walking her daughter’s cavapoo in Station Approach at about 3pm when it unexpectedly relieved itself outside the Crown Roast Butchers.

She claims a man came out of the shop and kicked seven-year-old Teddy, causing him to fly through the air in front of shocked passers-by.

Daughter Willa Dodd, 54, of Woodlea Drive, Bromley, posted on Facebook: “I’m absolutely shocked to find out my dog was kicked up in the air which led to him crying and bleeding and needing to be rushed to the vets.

“My 80-year-old mum was walking my dog up Hayes high street this afternoon where he did a little wee near the butchers.”

Mrs Dodd’s mother told her the dog was kicked so hard that he flew up into the air, leaving Ms Hurley “distressed and panicked”.

Mrs Dodd said: “It’s absolutely shocking.”

A witness, who asked not to be named, told News Shopper she saw Ms Hurley collapse to the floor shaking in shock at what had happened.

She also said she held Teddy and saw his injuries first-hand.

She said: “I was holding the dog – I’m an animal lover and I was screaming, which wasn’t helpful.

“It was very unnecessary, the dog just weed a bit outside the butcher’s shop on the street and the lady said she would have cleaned it up but she didn’t get the chance.

“If that was a kid would he have kicked it like that?

“That animal is defenceless – it’s a tiny dog.

“I picked him up and he was bleeding from his willy.

“And they don’t know if there’s internal damage but he’s damaged something.”

Teddy was given medication and is be faring well, despite suffering a swollen bladder and injuries to his penis.

But Ms Hurley has cancelled holiday plans to visit her brother in Spain as she is still shaken up by the whole experience.
