The Dartford Crossing will be partially closed for seven nights in a row.
Both of the river crossing’s tunnels will be shut alternately starting from the beginning of August.
Most motorists should be able to continue their journeys as normal, although congestion is possible.
However, oversized vehicles, which specifically use the larger east tunnel for carrying hazardous goods into Essex, will have to follow the signed diversions.
The works by Highways England have been put in place to “improve journeys” at the crossing.
From 9pm - 5.30am each tunnel will be closed alternately starting from August 1.
From August 1 - August 4 the east tunnel will be closed, meaning lorries and tankers carrying hazardous goods will be on diversion.
From August 5 - August 6 the west tunnel will be closed.
On August 7 the east tunnel will be closed once again.
