Przemek Wolski caught a glimpse of what was happening when he was walking his dog around 5am.

He said: "There is a guy on the roof, by the chimney, throwing stuff down to the street.

"Plenty of police are there.

"I saw this guy throwing something heavy on the street.

"Roof tile, or some ceramics from the chimney - not sure.

"Two girls in nurse uniforms told me that this guy has been there since 1am."

According to traffic reports there was also a crash in the night near Bridge Road, close to Slade Green station.

Slade Green Road has reopened and bus route 89 is back to its normal route after an earlier diversion.
