Visitors to a summer fete in the gardens of a Bromley day centre enjoyed sunshine, flamenco dancers and a steel band as they raised £1,000.
The Friends of Astley Day Centre event featured a wide array of stalls including a Mencap tombola, henna hand painting and bric-a-brac, as well as attractions provided by Bromley Golf Club, the fire service and St John’s Ambulance.
Of the £1000 raised, £500 will go towards sensory equipment at the Astley Day Centre, and the remainder into the Friends of Astley fund.
Sue Burgess, who is part of the team which arranges social activities for the Friends of Astley fundraising group, said: “Staff and volunteers pulled out all the stops to offer a fantastic selection of food ranging from paella, curry and a BBQ to creams teas and knickerbocker glories.
"The good food, entertainment and amazing weather kept everyone happy - eating, laughing and having fun on a perfect English sunny afternoon."
