THE Mayor of Bromley and celebrities from The Variety Club went along to see the keys to a brand new Sunshine Coach being handed over to Beckenham’s Marian Vian Primary School.

The coach was the result of the fundraising efforts of Tony Negal and was donated on behalf of the past captains of Sundridge Park Golf Club.

Tony, a career-long supporter of The Variety Club, has now personally been involved with presenting three Sunshine coaches.

Other supporters included Sundridge Park Golf Club’s Wednesday Club made up of Alex Yazdani, Nick Dible and Tony Barrett, along with Langford Russell estate agents, part of The Acorn Group.

This is the second time the firm has been involved in supporting a Sunshine Coach with Tony Negal and Sundridge Park Golf Club in recent years.

Following the presentation nearly 100 players in pairs pitted their skills over 18 holes of golf, on one of the two championship courses Sundridge Park has to offer.

Celebrities playing on the day included Jimmy Tarbuck, the comedian and entertainer who is also the Variety Club president, Steve Coppell, England and Manchester United footballer, who is Variety Club captain, Len Goodman from Strictly Come Dancing and David Redfearn, a magician and a member of The Inner Magic Circle.

A charity auction followed the golf, giving participants a chance to put their hands in their pockets and donate further.

More than £8,000 was raised, which puts Tony and his team well on their way to donating their next coach.
