Londoners can now register to have their say on plans for the controversial Silvertown Tunnel project.

Linking the Greenwich Peninsula with the Royal Docks in east London, the tunnel is being billed by supporters as a welcome solution to ease traffic going through the Blackwall Tunnel.

But those opposed to the new route say the project will generate more traffic.

Campaigners from the No to Silvertown Tunnel campaign fear that the new river crossing will be increased congestion at other bottlenecks across London, leading to worse air quality and longer journey times.
