Courts across Kent have been busy dealing with offenders from Dartford and Gravesham this week.

Here's a round-up of who has been in the dock:

Matthew William Dolan, 27, of Windmill Street, Gravesend, was jailed on July 5 at Medway Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to making off without payment, attempted shoplifting and five counts of shoplifting.

On March 4, Dolan stole a battery powered drill worth £140 from a shop in Prospect Place, Dartford.

On March 6 he left a restaurant in Dartford Road, Dartford, without paying for food and drink worth £61.48.

On March 20, he stole food worth £7 from a supermarket in Whitehill Road, Gravesend.

On March 30 he stole a drill worth £100 fro,m a shop in Sturry Road, Canterbury. He also stole a drill worth £200 from the same shop on a second occasion.

On April 6, he stole clothing worth £15 from a shop in New Road, Gravesend.

On May 20, he attempted to steal tools worth £131.50 from a shop in Prospect Place, Dartford.

Magistrates sentenced Dolan to 60 days in prison. He must also pay £423 compensation and a £115 victim surcharge.

Ladislav Bodgan, 26, of Milton Road, Gravesend, was jailed on July 5 at Medway Magistrates’ Court after he pleaded guilty to burglary, shoplifting and failing to surrender to court bail.

On April 20, Bodgan broke into a house in Brandon Street, Gravesend, with the intent to steal.

On April 23, he stole perfume worth £90 from a shop in St George’s Shopping Centre, Gravesend.

On June 21, he failed to surrender to bail at Medway Magistrates’ Court without reasonable excuse.

Magistrates sentenced Bogdan to 130 days in prison. He must also pay £1,285 compensation, a £50 fine, £170 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Chantelle Porter, 30, of Hook Green Road in Southfleet, was locked-up on July 5 at Medway Magistrates’ Court after she pleaded guilty to shoplifting.

On July 4, Porter stole various fragrances worth an unknown amount from a shop in New Road, Gravesend.

Magistrates sentenced Porter to 28 days in prison but this will be increased to 112 days as she stole the fragrances while carrying out a suspended prison sentence. She must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Anuraj Jassal, 42, of Pine Avenue, Gravesend, was sentenced onJuly 5 at Medway Magsistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to failing to provide a blood specimen.

On May 20, Jassal failed to provide a specimen of blood for analysis in Meopham.

Magistrates banned Jassal from driving for 36 months and ordered him to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Vitalie Gurpelea, 20, of Parrock Street, Gravesend, was sentenced on July 5 at Medway Magistrates’ Court after he pleaded guilty to drink driving and driving without insurance.

On June 19, Gurpelea drove a Renault Megane, in Parrock Street, with no insurance. He gave a breath test of 91 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates banned Gurpelea from driving for 24 months. He must also pay a £450 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge
