A fox has been caught on camera walking around a Grove Park couple’s house “like he owned the place” before stealing their son’s PlayStation controller and dumping it in the garden.

The couple exclaimed “oh my god, a fox in the house” when they discovered the security camera footage this week.

Last month they returned home to Exford Road to find a shoe left astray near the back door and the controller sitting out on the grass, despite their son being tucked up in bed.

Thinking their security cameras were broken, a few weeks later they had them repaired which is when they discovered the bizarre footage of a fox casually strolling into the house.

The homeowner, who asked not to be named, said while watching the CCTV footage they first noticed the animal wandering around the hallway as family members were sat in the next room.

He told News Shopper: “On another camera you can see him coming out of the back window, putting the controller out on the grass.

“You can see him walking around the house like he owns the place.”

The 43-year-old said he doesn’t feel the house if safe for his kids anymore, and hopes the footage will warn others of the ever-confident urban foxes.

He added: “We’ve noticed them in the garden before but never coming in to the property.

“It’s really strange.”

After taking a tour of the ground floor, the fox picked up the controller in its mouth before it leapt out of the back window and into the garden.
