A Bromley schoolgirl placed in the top three at a national ice skating competition.
Aimee Carrington-Fryer, 11, trains five days a week and gets up at five in the morning to skate before school.
Her hard work paid off last week when she won the bronze medal at the British Solo Ice Dance Championships in Sheffield.
Aimee, who lives in Bromley Road, said: "It was so exciting, I was just really really really happy."
She started skating when she was five, after a day out with a friend, and it quickly became a passion.
Mum, Lisa Carrington, said: “Somebody just asked her to go skating, it started off as a once a week lesson and now she trains between five and six days a week.
"Aimee works really hard and is very committed to her skating. I am so grateful to her coaches for bringing out the best in Aimee as she is never happier than when she is on ice."
She added: “I’m extremely proud."
Aimee, a pupil at Pickhurst Junior Academy in West Wickham, hopes to represent Great Britain in the Olympics one day.
She is coached by Diane Towler-Green MBE, a former four-time British, European and World Ice Dance champion, Candice Towler-Green, a former two-time British Junior Ice Dance champion and Philippa Towler-Green, a four-time British Senior Ice Dance Silver medallist, European and World championship competitor and also Aimee’s choreographer.
Diane Towler-Green MBE said: "Aimee works really hard and has had her most successful season to date.”
