New York indie band We Are Scientists have been confirmed to play LeeFest this summer.

The duo, a formidable live act whose debut 2005 album With Love and Squalor helped soundtrack the noughties, join the likes of Lianne La Havas, Ghost Poet, Roots Manuva and Everything Everything on the bill.

LeeFest runs from July 28 to 30 and is famed not just for its atmosphere and big names but for its stellar track record in giving artists a shot before they hit the big time, including Bastille, Jack Garratt and London Grammar.

The Kent festival – which started in the Beckenham back garden of Lee Denny – has expanded enormously for 2016 and has a Neverland theme.

The festival will have three distinctive realms: the forests of The Neverwoods, the gritty Skull Rock and the kaleidoscopic Mermaids Lagoon.
