Geoff Moore from The Rotary Club of Beckenham popped in to the Freddie Farmer Physiotherapy Centre on Elliott Road, Bromley this month to present a £1500 cheque to charity trustee Danny Catchesides after reading an article about the charity in the News Shopper newspaper.
The money will be used towards the purchase of a LokoHelp electromechanical gait trainer - it does the work of two physiotherapists by holding the child's legs in an upright position to enable the children to walk in the correct walking pattern, to build their muscles required for walking and encourage a more effective application of therapy in all phases of gait training.
“The LokoHelp helps improve physical mobility and also helps with mental focus. We’re delighted that our donation will go towards the purchase of this equipment,” said Geoff.
- The Freddie Farmer Physiotherapy Centre, for children across South-east London, is one of only a handful of centres offering specialised physiotherapy for children with mobility problems.
