A 16-year-old boy is fighting for his life after a stabbing in Deptford.
Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses after the teen suffered multiple stab wounds in Payne Street shortly after midnight on Saturday (May 28).
Police have confirmed that before the victim stabbed, he was attacked by a group of about four to six male teenagers armed with knives
The youngster was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
During the stabbing, one member of the group was seen chasing another teenage boy along Payne Street but escaped unhurt.
The group then fled in a red hatchback.
Weapons were recovered by officers from the scene.
One man was arrested in connection with the investigation.
He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
