A RADIO DJ has promised to dress up as a princess in front of hundreds of people to raise money for a children’s hospice.
DJ Mark Dover says he will parade in front of hundreds of onlookers dressed as a woman if he manages to meet his £2,000 fundraising target for Haven’s House Children Hospice in Woodford Green.
The Time 107.5FM DJ from Romford first came up with the idea after chatting to his listeners about how rock stars like Keith Richards, David Bowie and Rod Stewart used to wear women’s clothes.
After suggesting he should give it a go for the hospice in High Road, Woodford Green he received £750 in donations in just 30 minutes.
He said: “After I suggested it I discovered there’s a Guinness World Record attempt next month for the most people dressed as princesses at once.
“If I’m going to dress as a princess, I felt the best charity to give it to was Haven House.
“It provides amazing care and support to life-limited children and their families in the area.”
If Mark smashes his £2,000 target he will be opening Haven House’s new charity shop in South Street, Romford dressed in all his finery on Saturday June 11.
Head of Retail at Haven House Matt Lord said: "It looks set to be a very memorable weekend and we are looking forward to welcoming Mark and many other princesses and shoppers through our doors."
You will also be able to see him outside Romford Shopping Hall with all the other princesses at 1pm.
