A Bexleyheath pub will be hosting a fantasy football competition with a twist for Euro 2016.

The Yacht, a Flaming Grill pub, situated in Long Lane, is appealing for local footy fanatics to join its Not So Fantasy Football League – and pick the worst performing players in the upcoming tournament.

The pub has teamed up with popular Sky Sports pundit Chris Kamara who has outlined his tips on how to get the least amount of points.

The Yacht's general manager, Sue Barnes, said: “Last year we scoured the nation for the UK’s worst performing local football teams.

“To involve even more Bexleyheath footy fans this year we thought why not take it to the international stage and let guests select their own team of flops, bottlers and hatchet men.

“With more countries than ever before, we thought what better way to support Bexleyheath football fans than to give them a reason to follow some of the lesser known teams and players.”

The person who has the worst performing team after the final on July 10 will win £500.

Kamara, known affectionately by fans as Kammy, added: “We’re sure to see some amazing own goals, gaffs and rash challenges in this year’s competition.

“By focusing on those players that aren’t usually headlining the European stage, the Not So Fantasy Football League gives Bexleyheath fans a chance to get a more rounded view on European football.”

Kammy’s tips on making the worst possible Not So Fantasy Football League Team…

  • Form: Look for players whose failings are legendary, with strikers who couldn’t hit a barn door let alone the net, and keepers who couldn’t catch a cold.
  • Obscurity: Look for players more commonly associated with the lower leagues than the Premier League, whose nation’s better known for its association with blood sucking vampires than footballing prowess.
  • Part-timers: If your chosen player spends as much time in his Mr Whippy van as on the pitch, he’s likely to be a sure bet for the Not So Fantasy Football League.
  • Longevity: While it might be tempting to pack your team with some of Albania’s best footballing talent, remember the competition lasts beyond the group stages. So, a weaker player in a better established team could pay dividends later on.
  • Team work: Remember it’s a team game - make sure you pack your defence with more leaks than a colander and create a midfield that’s as useful as a chocolate teapot.
