An elderly woman is being praised for her "guerrilla wood carvings" in Barnehurst.
Sam Jones, 50, from Belvedere, came across the remarkable carvings while walking her dog in Bursted Woods on April 4.
The woman is 69 years old and carves wood from trees into the shape of animals – and pictures of the carvings, uploaded to social media, have received rave reviews.
A rat, a bird, an owl and many more animals have been made by the lady.
Ms Jones told News Shopper: “I’ve seen the carvings before but didn’t know who worked on them.
“I wondered who was doing them and when I came across the elderly woman carving the wood, I just thought they were brilliant.
“She hadn’t carved anything since she was younger and only recently started it again as a hobby - and everyone loves them.
“She has pretty basic tools – and says she’d like better equipment for her 70th birthday.
“It’s great that she’s elderly and is trekking to the woods to do something she enjoys.”
