Two men from Dartford and Gravesend have been stripped of their licences after getting behind the wheel two times over the drink-drive limit.

Thomas Biddiscombe, 30, of Bazes Shaw in New Ash Green, travelled on Hartley Road, Longfield in a Ford Transit while intoxicated on March 19.

A police breath test revealed he had 77 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Dartford and Gravesham magistrates banned Biddiscombe from driving for 20 months and ordered him to pay a £450 fine, £85 costs and a £45 victim surcharge.

On March 5 Gurvinder Thandi, 34, of Old Road East, Gravesend, drove a Peugeot 206 nearly three times over the limit. He gave a breath test of 99 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned Thandi from driving for 20 months and ordered him to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months.

He must also pay £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

Both Biddiscombe and Thandi were sentenced on April 7 at Dartford and Gravesham Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to drink-driving.
