A collection of knives have been removed from the streets by police in the first few weeks of the New Year.
Bromley and Lewisham officers have picked up three blades – one of which features a decorative handle – as they crack down on knife crime in the capital.

Over the weekend Sydenham police discovered a large seven inch knife, most likely intended for use in the kitchen, but was in Highclere Street, Lower Sydenham.

Also on Sunday (January 17) Lewisham police arrested a man for a public order offence – using a knife.
PC Andrew has arrested a male for a Public order offence where a knife was used. Currently en route to Bromley custody.

And last week fellow police officers from Lewisham found another long kitchen knife, this time purple, during a weapons sweep in Viney Road, Lewisham.
