Firefighters found no signs of a fire after the Gravesend Adult Education Centre was evacuated due to reports of burning smells in the building.
Concerned onlookers smelt the burning at the property, also known as the Victoria Centre, in Darnley Road at about 10.50am today (December 1).
One fire engine attended the scene.
Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a smell of burning at 11am.
“The premises were evacuated as firefighters looked to find out the cause of the smell.
"The incident is still open but firefighters did not find anything and have completed the search."
