A young man from Swanscombe is among 15 suspected criminals to be arrested in north Kent over the past month, in connection with burglaries in the area.

23-year-old Ricky Blackwell has been charged after a break-in in Sun Lane, which happened last Wednesday (November 18).

The Grove resident was arrested as part of Operation Castle - which Kent Police run every year, as crafty crooks take advantage of the long autumn nights.

Police officers are cracking down on burglaries across Dartford, Gravesend, Swale and the Medway towns.

Over in Medway - Sean Naylor, 21 of Lodge Hill Lane in Rochester, and Connor Fuller, 19 of Bradbourne Avenue, have been charged with the burglary of a property in Dawes Street, Gillingham, on October 9.

Meanwhile in Chatham, Ian Thomas, 33 of Kestrel Road, has been charged with a burglary in Coombe Close, which was reported on September 21.

Finally in Sheerness, Nicholas Mitchell, 36 of Marine Parade, has been charged with the burglary of a property in Alma Road, on October 25.

The other ten suspects are yet to be charged.
