Police have arrested a further six men after trouble broke out a Crystal Palace match in September.

The arrests were made today in a series of raids in Greenwich, Plumstead, Welling, Lewisham, Tower Hamlets and Rochester, Croydon police said.

They come as detectives continue to investigate violence that broke out between Crystal Palace and Charlton fans after the teams' Capital One cup match at Selhurst Park on September 23.

Six men were arrested in the immediate aftermath of the game two months ago.

In October, Charlton fan Marcus Silva received a three-year ban from football matches after pleading guilty to throwing a seat at Crystal Palace fans during the match.

The match finished 4-1 to Crystal Palace.

Today five men aged between 20 and 48 were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, with the 48-year-old also suspected of assaulting a police officer.

A 20-year-old man was also arrested on a public order offence. Police said the arrests related to offences that took place both inside and outside the ground.

All six were taken to a south London police station, and remain in custody.

It is unclear which teams the arrested men support.

A police spokesman said none of the men were wearing football shirts at the time of the arrests.
