While services across the capital continue to be cut, the salaries of leading south east London council officials have been revealed.
Figures show the earnings during the past year for chief executives and other council employees who work for Greenwich, Lewisham, Bromley, Bexley, Dartford and Gravesham.
Many of them have a bigger salary than Prime Minister David Cameron’s £149,440-a-year.
The figures below were reported by the Daily Mail following a major investigation.
Greenwich:
- Thirty employees earned over £100k- a-year.
- Former Chief Executive Mary Ney - £225,150
- Director of regeneration, enterprise and skills John Comber - £198,982
Bromley:
- Fourteen employees earned over £100k-a-year.
- Chief executive Doug Patterson - £203,393
- Executive director of care and health Terry Parkin - £173,454
Bexley:
- Seventeen employees earned over £100k-a-year
- Former chief executive Will Tuckley - £233,201
- Ex-director of environment and wellbeing Peter Ellershaw - £207,015
Lewisham:
- Nineteen employees earned over £100k-a-year
- Executive director of community services Aileen Buckton - £171,464
Only four employees from both Dartford and Gravesham Council earn over £100k-a-year.
