A driver had a "lucky escape" after their car caught fire in Sidcup.
The black car - thought to be a Vauxhall Zafira - turned into a fireball just before 9am yesterday (November 1) in Lakeside Close.
Despite the inferno, London Ambulance Service (LAS) tweeted a photo of the blaze adding the driver had a "lucky escape".
Firefighters from London Fire Brigade (LFB) battled the blaze which was under control within half an hour.
The problem appears to be widespread with numerous people up and down the country reporting their cars have gone up in flames.
MORE TOP STORIES Car maker Vauxhall has issued a safety warning on their website in response to the flammable models.
It identified the Zafira B as the faulty culprit - not the current Tourer model - and affects cars bought 2005 - 2014.
The statement read: "Vauxhall has carried out an investigation following reports of fire in the area of the heating and ventilation system in a number of Vauxhall Zafiras.
"While the number of incidents is very low in proportion to the number of vehicles on the road, we take this issue very seriously and will take further action."
But it has not issued a recall of the models.
