Orpington Chinese Language School celebrated their one year anniversary with a dash of colour.

The school, located in Warren Road Primary School off Gleeson Drive, marked the occasion on Saturday (October 10) with the help of Bromley mayor Coun Kim Botting.

Also on hand to enjoy festivities was the head of Overseas Chinese Affairs from the Chinese Embassy.

Led by Headteacher Gigi Chen, the school now has six classes and more than 80 students, after beginning with just 30.

MORE TOP STORIES She said: “Since its establishment, Orpington Chinese Language School has been applying the Confucius philosophy “take care of other children like your own” in our caring and teaching of our students.

“Children not only learn more Chinese expressions but also develop deeper understanding of Chinese culture.”

The students from Orpington Chinese Language School also put on a show for all the guests.

The performance includes the poetry recitation, Chinese traditional songs, dances and other forms of Chinese rap.

The event culminated in a performance by a world aerobatics champion.
