Two men have been arrested in Northfleet following police investigations into a series of Kent burglaries targeting cigarette retailers.

A Mercedes E-350 was linked to one of the thefts and traced to a property in Taunton Road.

After executing a warrant on October 6, the two men, aged 28 and 29, were arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries until December 7.

The men were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to steal from a service station in Tonbridge Road, Hildenborough, on September 29.

Police are not ruling out the possibility that the Mercedes is connected to numerous other cigarette break-ins reported in recent weeks.
