Young Bromley athletes and their parents attended a celebration to mark their team's success in securing fifth place at this year’s London Youth Games.

Bromley Mayor Kim Botting and the council’s chief executive Doug Patterson congratulated the youngsters and their volunteer coaches, who competed against 32 London borough teams.

Sponsors MyTime Active organised the ceremony at The Pavillion Leisure Centre, in Kentish Way, on Wednesday (October 5).

Team Bromley coordinator Sasha Dickson of Mytime Active, which organised the ceremony, said: "Over 750 Bromley young people took part in the London Youth Games and Paragames and the celebration was our chance to say congratulations to all of them and the volunteers who made it possible.

"We are now beginning our campaign for next year and would like anyone eligible to take part or volunteer to get in touch with Mytime Active as we begin to put together the teams for the London Youth Games 2016."

Young people, potential coaches or volunteers who wish to take part should contact Ms Dickson at events@mytimeactive.co.uk or call 020 8323 1708.
