A man and woman have been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Dartford.

The man, in his 60s, suffered a cut to his head and neck pain after being hit by the car in Hythe Road just before 5pm yesterday (October 8).

A woman, in her 20s, is thought to have fractured her leg in the accident.

Both casualties were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital by paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAMB).

Kent Police were also called the crash, which left the driver of the car "shaken" and damaged a railway bridge causing delays between Gravesend and Dartford and London Charing Cross.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "The incident involved a car and two pedestrians – a man and a woman – and there is reported damage to the railway bridge."
