An 'emotionally disturbed' man tried to jump off a ledge in Lewisham yesterday, before police officers were able to talk him down.
New Cross Road was closed at around 8pm whilst police, paramedics and fire crews arrived.
Officers were able to talk the man to safety before he was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Just after 8.30pm Lewisham MPS posted on Twitter: "New Cross Road was briefly closed while officers dealt with an emotionally disturbed male on a ledge....
"Happy to report that the male has been successfully talked in by police, and is now en route to hospital to receive help."
A busy shift, but a successful one. 12 year old boy located safe and well and vulnerable male given the care he needs. #keepingyousafe ^64
