Police have released an image of a man thought to be responsible for an armed crime wave across Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich.

Betting shops and banks have been targeted in the last month, with officers believing the same man is behind all 13 raids.

He is thought to have stolen around £4,000 during the robberies.

In each robbery he ‘loiters’inside or outside, waiting for it to become less busy.

He then walks up to the counter and points what appears to be a black, self-loading pistol at cashiers before demanding money.

MORE TOP STORIES The most recent attack came at 8pm last night (September 2) at William Hill bookmakers along Deptford High Street.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Shona Wilkinson of the Met's Flying Squad, said: "In some cases he threatened to shoot staff.

“During a robbery at HSBC in Lewisham, he grabbed an employee, pointed the gun at them and demanded cash from the victim's colleagues."

He is described as black with close cropped hair, a moustache and a small scar or marks on the right hand side of his face.

He is thought to be in his late 20 or early 30s and speaks with a London accent.
