Kent Police have announced the formation of a new, specialist policing team, created to target organised crime gangs.
The unit will be responsible for intercepting drug supplies and preventing intimidation suffered by vulnerable people in north Kent.
Operation Jupiter will target criminal networks in areas including Dartford, Gravesham, Medway and Swale.
Chief Supt Adrian Futers, commander of Kent Police’s North Division, said: “It has become apparent that an increasing number of individuals involved in criminal gangs are attempting to operate in north Kent.
Their activities potentially pose significant risks to our communities, a position I will simply not tolerate.”
