Beer and pizza are two things which just go together, like thunder and lightning or Posh and Becks.
Now Crystal Palace has a fresh new restaurant where you can have your fill of them – beer and pizza, that is.
The team behind The Lido Cafe in Herne Hill has opened Four Hundred Rabbits in Westow Street.
Named after a tale of Aztec gods, the restaurant aims to do both beer and pizza very, very well. The chefs use sourdough for the pizzas to give a deeper flavour yet light texture and crust, and seasonal toppings from artisanal producers.
Expect to see ingredients such as artichoke and asparagus when the time is right, alongside ingredients like British charcuterie and slow-smoked rare breed brisket.
When it comes to drinks, the team at Four Hundred Rabbits has been as choosy, with a range of craft beers – four on tap and five in bottles/cans – and the option to have them served in schooners or to take away.
There is wine on tap, London’s Allpress coffee, juices from Peckham and world-famous Gelupo Gelato from Soho.
Four Hundred Rabbits is already serving food after a 'soft launch' but officially opens on September 1.
