A fresh wave of Southeastern engineering works begin tomorrow - with revisions, cancellations and rail replacement buses affecting services across News Shopper's patch.

Here's what you need to know, before you travel by train.

New Cross trains to Charing Cross and Waterloo East:

  • From 1.20am tomorrow (Aug 16) until 4am on Monday, there will be NO trains between New Cross and these two London stations.
  • Trains will, however, run to Cannon Street, calling at London Bridge.
  • Tickets will then be accepted on the Underground between London Bridge, Cannon Street, Waterloo, Southwark, Charing Cross and Embankment tube stations.​

Dartford trains to Strood:

  • From 1.20am tomorrow to 4am on Monday, buses will replace trains between Dartford and Strood.
  • Because of this, NO trains will be calling at Greenhithe for Bluewater, Gravesend, Higham, Northfleet, Stone Crossing or Swanscombe.
  • Rail replacement buses will run in both directions between Dartford and Gravesend, Dartford and Strood, Ebbsfleet International and Strood.

Trains between Dartford and Gravesend:

  • Overnight engineering works from 12.25am on Tuesday, until 4.15am on Friday.
  • Some services will be replaced by buses between Dartford and Gillingham.
  • The 11.39pm and 12.18am trains from Charing Cross to Gillingham will both terminate at Dartford.
  • Rail replacement buses will them go on to Greenhithe, Gravesend, Higham and further into Kent.

Between Hither Green and Dartford, via Sidcup:

  • Overnight works from 12.25am on Tuesday, until 4.45am on Friday.
  • Some services between Charing Cross and Dartford, via Sidcup, will terminate at Lewisham.
  • Rail replacement buses will call at Hither Green, Lee, Mottingham, New Eltham, Sidcup, Albany Park - Footscray Lane, Albany Park - Hurst Road/Valentine Avenue, Bexley, Crayford, Dartford, Greenhithe, Gravesend, Higham and into Kent.
  • Buses leaving Lewisham at 12.30am are expected to arrive in Higham at 2.15am, meaning the 11.52pm service from Charing Cross will take two and a half hours to reach the village.

Advance warning:

The New Cross to London engineering works will continue next weekend, starting at 1.10am on Saturday (Aug 22).

Engineering works between Plumstead and Slade Green also begin next Saturday.
