The trial of a Bromley NHS doctor charged with the manslaughter by gross negligence of a teacher who died after giving birth by emergency Caesarean will be held in London.

Consultant anaesthetist Errol Cornish, 67, is charged in connection with the death of Frances Cappuccini.

The 30-year-old primary school teacher died at Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Pembury, Kent, after giving birth to her son by emergency Caesarean section on October 9 2012.

Cornish of Holmbury Park sat in the dock at the Old Bailey during a preliminary hearing watched closely inside the courtroom by members of Mrs Cappuccini's family.
