A Sidcup mother has thanked a mysterious stranger who stayed by side the side of her three children’s dad when he crashed his car into a lamp post.
David Lloyd, 37, had dropped Ellie, five, Harry, three, and four-month-old Daisey at a park near Rectory Lane with their mother, Carly Gillard, just after 2.30pm yesterday (August 5) when his foot slipped causing the car to hit a lamp post.

Miss Gillard, who lives in Sidcup High Street, said: “Dave had dropped us off at the park when he called me to say he had had a crash and was trapped in the car.
“Obviously you think the worst.
“We were running through the field towards the car.
“His foot had slipped off the brake onto the gas as he went round a corner and he went straight through a bush.”
The 29-year-old has thanked a kind passer-by who stayed with Mr Lloyd throughout his traumatic experience and returned later on to check on the family.
She added: “A young man stopped to help, I didn’t get his name but he stayed with Dave the whole time and came back later on to check on everybody.
“He was brilliant, I just want to make sure everybody is thanked, I just want to say thank you.”

The pair have also praised the work of firefighters who were forced to cut Mr Lloyd from his car.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Woolwich suffering whiplash.
Miss Gillard said: “The emergency services were brilliant.
“They were there within five or ten minutes, it was a very fast response time.
“One firefighter calmed me down and stayed with me and children in the back of a fire engine to keep them occupied.
“Dave was quite traumatised but it was shock more than anything.
“The children are okay, Ellie was quite shaken up as she is a bit of a daddy’s girl.”
